Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This Research focuses on the chronology of Gandharan Sculptures made in the north-western Indian Subcontinent in ancient times. By analyzing stylistic features of Gandharan sculptures based on archaeological information obtained in excavations which have been conducted so far there, we can get chronological benchmarks for the stylistic features. As a conclusion, there seems to have been a large alteration in Gandharan sculptures in the first half of the 3rd century CE.
