Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research has examined the U.S.-Soviet nuclear disarmament negotiation and a peace offensive of the Soviet Union. Concretely, this study is to consider the analysis of intelligence that relates to peace movement in the Western Countries and the Soviet's active measures, and to prove reliability of the U.S. intelligence and foreign affairs reports. During the 1980s, the peace movement were expanded in the Western Countries. Most of such movements also opposed deployment of the SS-20 ballistic missiles in Eastern Europe by the Soviet Union. However, a part of the peace movements also criticized only to nuclear deployment in Western Europe by the NATO. Because they were controlled or sponsored by the International Department of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
