Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度までに、地球外核において磁気ロスビー波が励起されうることを球殻MHDダイナモシミュレーションによって示した。本年度これをさらに精査するため、複数のシミュレーションを実施し、パラメータ依存性を調べた。その結果、仮定するパラメータにより励起される波数モードは変化するものの、軸対称なねじれ振動が検出できるときには磁気ロスビー波も励起されることがわかった。さらに、これらの波動がコア表面の磁場変動において検出可能であること、非線形性によって波形が孤立的になることなどがわかった。
これら波動モードは、対流やダイナモが磁気地衡的 (magnetostrophic) レジームにあるときに現れるだろうと理論的に示唆されてきた。しかし、このレジームが実際に球殻MHDダイナモシミュレーション等において達成可能かどうかは議論となっていた。研究代表者のシミュレーションにより、磁気ロスビー波の励起とともに、磁気地衡的バランスが達成されることを確認した。
コア最上部における数百km程度の薄い安定成層の存在と、そのコアダイナミクスや地磁気への影響とが、近年再び議論されている。これを踏まえ、このような薄い安定成層が存在する場合、どのような波動が励起され得るかを再検討した。直交座標系浅水モデルを採用して、球面上の中緯度域および低緯度域における固有波動モードをそれぞれ解析し、解の分類を行った。このような基本波動モードの解析は、球座標系において解析する際やコア深部対流層との相互作用を検討する際にも重要な基礎を与える。今後、これらをさらに検討していく予定である。
