Outline of Final Research Achievements

SKG mouse on BALB/c background is a murine model for rheumatoid arthritis. We backcrossed SKG mice into C57BL/6 background to generate SKG mice on C57BL/c background (C57BL/6 ZAP70skg/skg mice; B6 SKG mice). B6 SKG mice developed lupus like nephritis with immune complex deposition and anti-DNA antibody production after chronic stimulation with Toll like receptors agonists. In B6 SKG mice, follicular helper T cells (CXCR5+, PD-1high, Bcl6+) were spontaneously expanded and helped forming the germinal center B cells (Fas+, GL-7+) to produce anti-DNA antibody.
