Outline of Final Research Achievements |
First, we studied sex and age differences in gene expression levels in the medial prefrontal cortex and the dorsal hippocampus after fear extinction using DNA micro array. 306 and 208 genes were expression levels > 1.5 between sexes and ages, respectively. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis with this gene information predicted dexamethasone as drug candidate which enhances fear extinction. Indeed, dexamethasone showed a tendency to enhancement of fear extinction memory.
