Outline of Final Research Achievements

In our previous study, tracheal regeneration was successfully achieved by using bio-engineered trachea with chondrocytes. Otherwise, delay of epithelization on the inner lumen of bio-engineered trachea was observed. Delay of epithelization may cause some problems including infection or tracheal stenosis.
The purpose of this was to develop a novel hybrid bio-engineered trachea with chondrocyte and fibroblasts, and to verify the effects of the trachea. As a result, cartilaginous regeneration was suppreded.
