Outline of Final Research Achievements |
There is a diverse microbiota in the oral cavity, in which specific oral bacteria are able to reduce nitrate to nitrite. We have determined complete genome sequences of four strains including nitrate reducing Actinomyces and Rothia species. Additionally, through the development a novel selective medium for isolating oral Rothia species, we compared the nitrate reducing activities of Rothia species.
