Outline of Final Research Achievements

Paying attention to the usability of intervention based on assessment of medical care from patients’ viewpoint, we developed a new web tool to alleviate psychological distress and support treatment decision making for advanced and recurrent cancer patients and their family. We plan to conduct randomized-controlled trial to assess the usability of the intervention including this web tool.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

患者とその家族の求める援助に基づいた介入により、患者の意思決定による葛藤が減少し、患者とその家族の満たされないニードが減少し、精神的負担やQOL が改善することが予測される。本研究の結果、患者やその家族が実際に閲覧した情報の傾向や好んだ精神療法を把握する事が出来れば、その結果に基づいて多くの患者・家族が求める有用な医療サービスを提供可能となる点に大きな意義が存在すると考えられる。かつ患者やその家族のニードが少ない情報や介入を減らす事が出来れば、医療費の削減にも貢献できるかもしれない。
