Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Cytotoxicity of oxide-supported gold nanoparticulate catalysts toward cancer cell lines were investigated. Among the investigated catalysts (Au/SiO2, Au/TiO2, Au/Fe2O3, Au/ZnO, and Au/ZrO2), Au/ZnO showed high cytotoxicity for HeLa and Mia Paca-2. Although simple ZnO also exhibits relatively high cytotoxicity compared to other oxides, this cytotoxicity further increased by deposition of gold nano clusters.
