Research Abstract |
The man-made eutrophication in reservoirs brings us a serious and difficult problem and is asked to be solved as quickly as possible. The study deals the engineering use of aeration in pratical aspect, to reduce some implicit factors possibly be influential to the eutrophication. The following results are obtained: (1) Hydraulic experiment of aerations ; The qualitative characteristics evidenced in the past were verified enough, but the quantitative characteristics were not clearly established, due to unknown eddy diffusivity of momentum and others. (2) Development of mathematical simulations for aerations; Two mathematical models for aerations in reservoirs have been developed; The first is considered the volume of air bubble in the flued, while the latter ignored. Both models can simulate qualitatively the reservoirs flows. However, the results depend mostly on the eddy diffusivity of momentum and others. Therefore, the estimation of these coefficients is very important. (3)Numerical simulation of aerations in real field; The following conditions have been assumed for the simulation study of real fields, (1)themally stratified flow, (2)change of jeted bubble volume and (3)variable water depth of exhaust nozzles. The flows obtained by means of the mathematical simulation have not been compared with the observations in real fields, but useful imformations are really obtained. (4) Practical use of aerations in real reservoirs; The technical operation aerations must be developed, depending upon particular characteristics of each reservoir.
