Research Abstract |
Various companies and local government bodies in Japan intend to establish their own guidelines for physical working conditions, job design and health examination on VDT work. We have carried out the field studies from 1984 and made the suggestions for the solutions of the health problems in these offices. We adopted to clarify the nature of their respective VDT works by the following approach: 1. Questionnaire survey on the health problems and the working conditions. 2. Task analysis of VDT and Non-VDT work by the direct observation and video recording check. 3. Measurements of work station dimensions, working posture, lighting and other environmental conditions. 4. Experimental research on the visibility of VDT in the laboratory.
