Research Abstract

In order to improve the traction performances and the trafficability of farm tractor in paddy field, sand dune field and other special fields, an adjustable-lug type running device of wheels aid was developed and studied for practical use, its results as follows:
1. The operation and action degree of lug device are controlled by hydraulic levers, and consequently this control can be very soon and ease.
2. In general, the amount of the traction performances of the adjustablelug type wheels aid in paddy field, sand dune and inclined fields are higher than when the conventional-lug type wheels aids use.
3. The major lug forces which act upon a lug plate are driving force by the rear wheels, and soil reaction from the tractor mass supported by the lug plate. The external forces of the lug plates are divided to lift and pull forces, and the adjustable factors of the lug are depth and angle of lug actions. The increased values of lift and pull forces in based of lug action by the adjustable-lug device suggesting better floatatin and trafficability of tractor.
4. The decrease of the compaction of tilled soil by using the adjustablelug device was obtained more effective results on the radish growth tests, cone penetration resistance, soil density and other physical conditions of tilth.
5. Also, the developed automatic operation system for this lug device were evaluted using the control systems of travel reduction and body inclination of the tractor, and their tests was effective results remarkably.
As mentioned above, the developed adjustable-lug device gave better results than conventional devices in many points on efficiential use of farm tractors.
