Research Abstract |
An attempt was made to establish the antigen-antibody system associated with non-A, non-B hepatitis. First we purified antigen reacted with convalescent serum of the non-A, non-B hepatitis patients from the liver of a patient posttransfusion non-A, non-B hepatitis. This antigen designated as AN6520 antigen and established assay system of this antigen and antibody by EIA. Hi-prevalance of antibody in the convalescent srea of non-A, non-B hepatitis was evident. However, further investigation disclosed this antigen-antibody system does not dierctly associated with non-A, non-B hepatitis. The other attempt to clone the B-lymphocyte producing the antibody associated with non-A, non-B hepatitis from convalescent chimpanzee was made by EB virus transformation method. We established monoclonal antibody directed microtubular aggregate which is thought as specific for non-A, non-B infected chimpanzee. Purification of the antigen and establishment of assay system are ongoing.
