Research Project
Grant-in-Aid for Developmental Scientific Research
Achievements of the project is as follows:Kinoshita established a method for determination of bradykinine using alkaline ninhydrin reagent and applied it to the studies on enzymatic degradation of gradykinine in human plasma. Nimura established a method for determination of glutathione in human blood using o-phthalaldehyde reagent. Diluted blood could be directly injected into a chromatograph without pre-treatment. Imai developed a method for determination of catecholamines catecholamines and L-dopa using ethylenediamine and applied it to monitor these substances in biological samples. Tsuji synthesized 1-bromoacetylpyrene for the fluorescent labeling of carboxyl group and employed it to estimate sulfateconjugated bile acids in biological fluids. Nambara prepared 9- or 1-anthroylnitrile as a fluorescent labeling reagents for hydroxy group and applied it to the determination of various steroids and bile acids. Ohkura devised a method to determine histidine decarboxilase activity by measuring histamine fluorometrically.New determination methods established in this research project were extremely effective for the ultramicrotracing of such biological materials.
