Research Abstract |
The purpose of this project is to try to unify four known fundamental interactions within the framework of the gauge theory, and to clarify the fundamental laws for elementary particles. Three subjects have been investigated: (1) Fundamental study of the field theory has been performed and obtained many new results on the following items; superstring theory, its geometrical character, conformal invariant and the Virasoro algebra, local gauge transformation, connection between the space-time and internal symmetries by the supersymmetry, chiral anomaly, path-integral method and stochastic quantization. (2) The quantum chromodynamics have been investigated to understand the quark confinement. The non-perturbative treatment, the spontaneous breaking of the chiral symmetry and the dual <lambda> transformation have been studied. (3) The fundamental assumptions of the present standard model have been examined phenomenologically. The following items have been investigated; quark mixing, various characters of the Majorana neutrinos, right-handed weak interaction, composite model of quarks and leptons, technicolor model and the anomalous magnetic moments of W-particles. The total 54 papers have been published on various international journals, 22 speeches at various international conferences and 20 reports at the domestic meetings of the Japan Physical Society have been presented, respectively.
