Research Abstract |
In the typical island arc "Northeast Japan Arc", there are wide distribution of the pre-Silurian to the Neogene strata and various plutonic rocks. The purposes of present project are ; 1)To clarify the nature of basement rocks of the district; 2)To clarify the nature and process of differentiation of the Cretaceous granites in the district; 3)The relation of plutonism of the Northeast and Southwest Japan; 4)Holocrystalline rocks related to the Tertiary and Quaternary volcanism. The results are as follows; 1)The nature of basements of the "Hayachine-tectonic belt" in the Kitakami Mountains is oceanic and the Strata of Silurian are sporadically but widely distributed in the South Kitakami; 2)Main granitic bodies of the Kitakami Mountains were studied structurally, petrologically and chemically. Some bodies form typical zoned pluton(Tono and Orikabe bodies). The Akagane body was investigated from the view point of ore-genesis. Sr initial ratio of the Northern Abukuma granites were first determined, then two types are distinguished in very narrow area. The Bato gabbroic body was investigated in detail;3)The comparative study between the Ryoke metamorphism and the contact metamorphism around the Tono granitic body was carried out. Granitic rocks of the lide-Asahi district and the Sekine district were done petrologically and mineralogically; 4)Extremely low K-tonalite were discovered from the products of the Adachi volcano, the outermost part of the volcanic front of the Nasu-zone and the co-genetic relation between the products and the tonalites is clarified. Some Tertiary plutonic rocks of the Sekiryo-zone are investigated petrologically and mineralogically.
