| Research Abstract |
Our research project focused our attention on the part-time farmers and subcontractors inthe rural area. We have explained those matters by the conception of the rural "regional labour market".
But the rural "regional labour market" has recently entered into a nextstage. The labour supply from rural area to city has declined. On the other hand the labour stream from city to rural area has not changed. The rural area has received the constant amount of labour force from city. Besides the rural area has almost lost its capacity which accepts those return people. Because agricultural management is unstable and most of farmers have become part-time farmers.
The "regional labour market" has been filled with the people who lost their works. They must get off-farm works, because they cannot already return to their farms.
The people in the rural area who are placed in the worst position are old ages. They lost works, because they have been too old to get works. Accordingly, the problems of old ages are serious in the rural area today.
