Research Abstract |
Recent advances of biotechnology made it possible to produce trancegenic animals which are introduced by foreign DNAs. Transgenic mice are thougth to become animal models for human diseases, since their chromosomes are integrated by foreign DNAs, functions of that are closely related to the specific manifestation of the diseases. Transgenic mice which are produced are as follows. HLA 4, Renin-Angiotensinogen 37, growth hormon 6, oncogene 2, cytochrome P450 6, Interleukin-2 and its receptor 3, myelin basic protein 17, total 75 mice are produced. Expression of introduced genes are also examined. As far as renin and angiotensinogen genes are expressed in transgenic mice. However, others are now under investigation By means of producing transgenic mice, a new paradigm of experimental animals becomes open to investagation.
