Research Abstract |
I wrote three papers according to the fundamental work for this reserch. Under the two papers on the study of Confucian classics by Gu Yenwu and Yuan Yuan, and the other fundamental work, I could make next few points clear. 1) Why did textual research become to be applicable to the study of Confucian classics in the Qing dynasty? This reason is on tne fact that Confucian classics was regarded as a historical product. 2) Thereby, text critic became easy to be done, collection of literatures was rapidly increased, regulation of them was hastened, and supplementary, studies, which supported the study of Confucian classics, highly developed. 3) The method of study, which served the objects of every work, consequently developed. On account of the above, the study of Confucian classics in the Qing dynasty has certainly some sientifical precisions, but is not science itself, and is not avoidable from limited effectiveness. The third paper is a fundamental work in order to investigate its limit, for example, in the revision of texts.
