| Research Abstract |
This basic studies aimed to confirm the effeotiveness of the radiother apy for liver cancer and damage for normal liver.
1)The 50% tumor control dose (TCD50) by irradiation for mouse liver cancer MH129-P is 53 Gy.
2)The histological changes in normal liver after irradiation were congestion, bleeding in sinusouid, fat vacuoles in hepatocyte and later on inte ratitial fibrosis and necrosis.These histological changes increased cont enucusly for 4-6 weeks after irradiation.
3)Edema of the irradiated nolmal liver increased for 4 weeks after irradiation and decreasing tendensy was observed after 6 weeks. 4)The value of Congo-red index ,which is sensitive parameter to learn funotion of reticule-endotherial system(RES), decreased for 4 weeks after irradiation and inreasing tendensy after 6 weeks.
We conoluded taht radiotherapy is effective for liver cancer and can be conducted safely by localizing the irradiation field
