Research Abstract |
We have been studying the physical and chemical properties of 3d transition metal compounds, such as oxides and chalcogenides. To investigate the origin of phase transitions appeared in these materials, it was very important to measure the temperature dependence of heat capacity up to 1000 c. The insruments for heat capacity measurement on the market, however, was not suitable for the samples we were interested in, because most of our samples are unstable on heating. In most experiments at high temperature, we treated our samples in evacuated transparent silica capsules to avoid decomposition or oxydation.
