Research Abstract |
Coriolus versicolor was cultivated on wood-chips media and delignification rate was evaluated by means of <TS_(50)> . The value is defined by time necessary for passing a half amount of ground wood particles through sixty mesh sieve, and it is proportioned to degree of delignification. Laccase <III> , laccase-type ligninase which was isolated from the extra-cellular enzymes of C. versicolor, was studied on its properties, mechanisms of degradation of lignin, and its application to delignification of wood. Selection of anaerobic bacteria which were able to produce ethanol directly from woody materials. At present, the ability of the bacteria obtained are not very good at making ethanol, and the screening is in process. A pretreatment-delignifi-cation-fermentation process was tentatively proposed.
