Research Abstract |
The joint research by five universities are carried out from 1984 to 1986. Each researcher worked for his own purpose under taking the same aim at the design of upland water requirement and made investigation using the same prosedure.The results were reported or are going to be composed in 16 theses by each researcher, and the common part of these investigations about evapotranspiration, the fundamentals of upland irrigation project, are pickked out and discused in final report as follows. (1) From the point of view of the potential evaporation (Eo), Chugoku-Shikoku area and Kyushu area are divided into three specific sections in its meteorological characteristics respectively. And 5 investigation stations correspond with these divided sections of Nihon sea, Seto inland sea, North Kyusyu and South Kyushu each other, except South Shikoku and Central Kyushu. (2) Evapotranspiration calculated by Penman's equation(ETpen) has a good correlation coefficient with the actual evapotranspiration(ETa) in each station. The Eo calculated by Penman's equation using the data of regional meteorological station also shows a good correlation with the ETpen of the investigation site each other. (3) Evapotranspiration ratio of soy bean is arround 1.0-1.1 after growing to over about 2.0 of leaf area index (LAI). It is concluded that the evapotranspiration method by using Penman's equation is the most rational for the design of upland water requirement.
