Research Abstract |
The purpose of this project is to develop CAI ( Computer-aided Instractions ) programs easily by any teacher who is having little knowledge of computer programming. using two data bases. One is called TEXTS Data base. the other is called Program Structure Data base. Both data base have same key codes which contains set name. module name and flame number. One who aimes to develop CAI program or Programmed Instractions texts may write content of flames. one by one. using Japanese Word Processor(M8510) and register these flames with key codes to TEXTS Data base. Registration is executed automatically. content of flames are transfered from the word processor to the large computer. After registration of all flames. developper designs how to use the flames. A flame that has a special number (number 1) is a starting flame of each module, but another flames can be used any order. by the pointers that are fetched from Program Structure Data base. So he may decide answers and following flame and then register these informations to Program Structure Data base. When both data bases are established. the system can produce a programmed instructions text in scrambled form or execute CAI program automatically. To implement the system. we developed following softwares. 1) Communication control modules between MELCOM 700S and M8510 Japanese Word Processor. 2) Registration and modification of contents of flames to the TEXTS Data base. 3) Registration of informations to the Program Structure Data base in conversational modes. 4) Editing program of programmed instruction texts. 5) Executing program of CAI on a micro-computer. Any micros that has MS/DOS and LEVEL 2 COBOL processor can be used.
