Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of using the image training in the teaching-learning process on mastering the basic nursing techniques. The subjects were 81 sophomore nursing students. An instructional package was composed of a video-tape of "sterilization techniques" , students' GSR and their subjective images on watching the video-tape, and instructor's check of their techniques. The results were as follows: 1. All students were able to master the sterilization techniques without the practical exercise. 17 students achieved it at the first check, the most students(29 persons) successfully passed by 2 times and only one student must received 6 times. 2. The students who passed completely were observed as those comprehend to combine its structure with the meaning of its principle. 3. Some students who act only by the superficial image could grasp the three-demensioned image of it on the way of repeating the instructor's check. 4. According to their subjective images, they tried to watch suffering wound from patient's side at the beginning, but after the image training they were going to watch the important points of the technique precisely from the nurse's side. 5. As the students have large difference we could hardly judge of their state of mastering the technique from their GSR and their subjective images. 6. Necessities of using the instructor's check in the teaching process were certainly confirmed of estimating the level of the techniques on the both sides of student's action and image. Analysis is now being performed by the same method on the teaching-learning process of "treatment of decubitus" and "catheterization techniques".
