Research Abstract |
Since 1978,our group has examined porphyrin derivatives based on hemoglobin and chlorophyl and their metal complexes(160 in all) and tested their relationships between side chain structure and tumor tissue accumulation. Based on this research, our group started developing new tumor-positive chemicals for scintigraphic use that would improve the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancers. Recently developed In-111-mono-DTPA-Ethyleneglycol Ga deuterporphyrin(In-111-MDEGD) were applied to Syrian golden hamsters with implanted pancreatic gland cancers,C57-black mice with Lewis lung cancer and nude mice with human lung adenocarcinoma to enable tumor imaging and biodistribution examination. In the resutant data, In-111-MDEGD showed larger tumor/lung,tumor/kidney and tumor/ blood ratio than with Ga-67-citrate. The affinity of In-111-MDEGD in inflammatory tissue was much lower than that of Ga-67-citrate. Recently we also found new photosensitizer-(bacterio-pheophorbide)which has maximum absorbance wavelength at 755nm.
