Research Abstract

1. We excavated in Nozoe Site where in Higashiide, Takane town, Yamanashi Prifecture. Nozoe Site is located in the Southern Foot of Yatsugatake Volcano where is many Jomon sites.
2. We discovered five pit-dwellings and many pits of Midlle Jomon era. Situations and attributes of pottery, stone implements and carbonized relics were recorded in a microcomputer, and we made dotmap of each kinds of relics by the micro computer.
3. We could get two c.c. of carbonized relics per one liter of soiles in Jomon pit-dwellings. There were many of carbonized relics in the upper of soiles recovered pit-dwellings and the living floor of thses.
4. Carbonized relics recorded are 3,497, in theses 2,434 are woods, 766 are nuts included chestnuts, walnuts and hazelnuts, others are holey carbonized relics and granular carbonized relics.
5. Chestnuts or walnuts concentrated on some of pit-dewelings and pits.
6. In the southern foot of Yatsugatake Volcano Jomon peoples might be based upon gathering chestnuts and walnuts, as compared that in Kinki area Jomon peoples gathered many kinds ofnuts included some kinds of acorns, horse chestnuts and walnuts.
