Research Abstract |
The beam theory is one of the basic knowledge to be acquired for all industrial engineers. The "Beam Apparatus" is a newly developed epochmaking model experimentation apparatus which can observe dynamic phenomena of statically determinate beams, statically indeterminate beams, and elastic support beams under concentrated or distributed loading. This apparatus is capable of measuring (1)support reaction,(2)shearing force, (3)bending moment,(4)deflection and (5)deflection angle, as well as Young's modulus of various materials. Thus the apparatus allows deeper understanding of the significance of the beam theory through comperative examinations between obtained experimental values and theoretical values. 1.By combining the movable suport, hinged support and fixed support, experiments of the elastic support beam as well as of the statically determinate and indeterminate beams are also available. 2.Loads such as concentrated load, uniform load, triangular load, moving load and indirect load can be observed either individually or in the combined style in each experiment. 3. Beam dimensions (span and section) and material can be selected freely, including sections having special shapes such as deform section and box section.
