Research Abstract |
The interractions for a period of 30month between three-year old children with Downs syndrome and their nurses were investigated.Their actions were video-taped and analyzed with respect to the communicative behaviors.The following issues were found as a result of the analysis. 1.Their communicative behaviors have changed to that of using utterances while they repeated the same play in a same situation through it took a long peariod. 2.Imitating,teasing and tricking each other were observed frequently in a process of coming to undrstand each other. 3.Through the interactions in which they made up a companionship by alternating in doing such things mentioned above,the behaviors of the children become PUNCTUATED and INDEXED,and after that they began to utter with action. In addition,through a continuous guaidance to the mothers of the children,following items were found to be needed to assist the mothers.
