Research Abstract |
The following matters became clear on the bus passengers decrease by the study for three years. 1) The decrease consists of the passing one and the con-tinuous one. It is necessary for analisis to treat them se-parately, because they have their own mechanism. 2) The continuous decrease, which is called a "leaved bus" phenomenon in JAPAN, has begun in the "overtaking year" when the bus fare level got higher than the consumer price level. 3) In the present stage of the "leaved bus" process, there are the differences among the enterprises. These differences are due to the shift of "overtaking years". 4) If taking no notice of this, we can not find out the correlation between the ratio of fare rise (X) and the ratio of passengers decrease (Y). 5) If setting the each overaking year as the each start-ing point, we can gain the following correlation equation, that is, y=1-exp[-0.47X]. The fare rise has effect on the passengers through this equation.
