Research Abstract |
WE REPORT ON A STUDY OF CHILDREN'S LIFE AND DEVELOPMENT AT CHYOKAI, AN UNDER POPULATED RURAL TOWN, IN AKITA PREFECTURE. THE REPORT INCLUDES DISCUSSION OF METHODOLOGY FOR NEWLLY ORIENTED CHILD STUDY IN THE FIELD OF "HOME ECONOMICS". THIS REPORT CONSISTS OF THREE SECTIONS. 1 THE FIRST SECTION DESCRIBES THE CHILDREN'S LIFE IN A PARTICULAR DISTRICT OF CHYOKAI, THE TENJINBURAKU. 2 THE SECOND SECTION EXAMINES CHILDREN'S EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL CIRCUMSTANCES FROM THE OPTIMUM ENVITRONMENTAL STANDARD POINT OF VIEW, IN THE FOLLOWING THREE AREAS, ONE: DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN'S IMAGE OF THE-IR PARENTS, TWO:ACCESS TO READING HABIT, THREE:NUTRITIONAL STATUS. 3 THE THIRD SECTION REPORTS THE RESULTS OF ATTENPTS TO CREATE CO-ORDINATION BETWEEN PUBLIC HEALTH,SOCIAL WELFARE AND EDUCATION DEPARTMENTS FOR HANDICAPPED CHILDREN. AS A RESULT OF OUR EXPERINENCES WHICH UNDERTAKING THESE STUDIES, WE DRIVED THE FOLLOWING 5 CRITERIA FOR RESEARCH IN THIS FIELD. 1 TO INTEGRATE THE STUDIES. 2 TO USE AN ECOLOGICAL APPROACH. 3 TO TURN RESULTS INTO PRACTICAL CUIDANCES FOR ACTION. 4 TO APPLY "THE META THEORY". 5 TO CO-ORDINATE RESEARCH WITH THE DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYEES WORKING IN THE FIELD, BY DEVELOPMENT OF NETWORKS, WORKING GROUPS, ETC.
