Research Abstract |
The present study was divided into two experiments. One of the experiment was effects of 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%VO_2 max bicycle ergometer exercise on exogenous carbohydrate metabolism after cane sugar (contained naturally labeled ^13SC-glucose) ingestion. Subjects were five healthy male students, aged 20-24 yr. The results were as follows. 1) The blood glucose and serum insulin after 30min end of 60%VO_2max exercise were the lowest levels of comparison with other exerxise intensities, but since blood glucose and serum insulin levels were increased. 2) The oxidation of exogeneous carbohydrate was remarkable increased 40% , 60%VO_2 max exercise. The other experiment was effects of 60% VO_2 max 20min 3sets exercise on exogeneous carbohydrate metabolism after cane sugar ingestion. Subjects were three non-insulin dependent diabetic patients, aged 48-53 yr. The results were as follows. 1) The decrease of blood glucose and serum insulin levels were remarkable, moreover since after 60 min end of exercise, it was not increased. 2) The oxidation of exogeneous carbohydrate, uring first set 20min exercise was showed 13.4%, during second sets was showed 29.4%, and during third sets was showed 47.7%. These both results were suggested, that optimal exercise prescription for decrease of blood glucose, serum insulin, and for increase of exogeneous carbohydrat oxidation was 60% VO_2max 20 min 3sets exercise.
