Research Abstract |
1. UBVRI Photometry of Merging Galaxies and Optical Identifications of IRAS Objects in the Rho Ophiuchus Molecular Cloud Complex (M. Nishida and T. Ichikawa) From May 29 to 31, 1986, UBVRI photometry of merging galaxies was done by using ASCAP(Automated Single Channel Aperture Photometer) on the 1.0m telescope at CTIO (Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, National Optical Astromy Observatories). From June 2 to 6, 1986, to identify the optical objects with the IRAS point sources in the Rho Ophiuchus molecular cloud complex, observations were done by using the Curtis/Schmidt telescope. 2.Deep Survey of Quasars (J. Jugaku) From November 25 to December 6, 1986, deep survey observations to serach quasars were done using IIIaF planes on the Curtis/Schmidt telescope at CTIO. Analysis of the plates is in progress. 3.Near Infrared Spectroscopy of Active Galactic Nuclei and Merging Galaxies (M. Nishi- da and Y. Taniguchi) From January 9 to 13, 1987, near infrared spectroscopy of galaxies with active galactic nuclei and starbrust nuclei was done by using IRS (Infrared Spectrometer) on the 1.5m telescope at CTIO. h_2 v+1-0 s(1) 2.12 <mu>m, Brackett <alpha>(4.05 <mu>m) and <delta> (2.17 <mu>m), and (Fe II) 1.644 <mu>m emission lines were measured. 4.High-Dispersion Spectroscopy of Active Galactic Nuclei and Quasars (M. Iye) From Junuary 20 to February 1, 1987, the high-dispersion spectroscopy of active galactic nuclei and quasars was done by using Boller and Chivens Spectrograph on the 2.2m telescope at ESO(European Southern Observatory), La Silla. Analysis of the data is in progress.
