Research Abstract |
In our phytochemical studies on larval food plants of butterflies and piscicidal plants, we have recentlyidentifidied a new triterpene alcohol and new derivatives of naphtoguinone from leves and fruits of these plants. (1) From the neutral fraction of ethanol extrct of parsonsia laevigate Alston(Japanese name : houraikagami), a new triterpene alcohol (taraxer-14-ene-3beta,24-diol) obtained, besides aliphatic hydrocarbons, fatty alcohols, taraxerol, lupeol, fatty acids, steroid mixture and beta-sitosterol-beta-D-glucoside. From the basic fraction, a series of pyrrolizidine alkaloids, parsonsine and heterophylline, were obtained. (2) The following substances were isolated from the leaves of aristolochia liukiuensis hatsusima(Japanese name: ryukyuumanosuzukusa): meso-inositol, fatty acid ethylester, fatty alcohols, beta-sitosterol, beta-sitosterol-beta-D-glucoside and aristolochic acid. (3) From the fresh fruits of Diospyros maritima Blume(Japanese name: ryukyugaki), two new naphtoguinones, 3-bromoplumbagin and ethyliden-6,6'-biplumbagin, were isolated, besides five known naphtohuinones, elliptinone, maritinone, 3-chloropulumbagin plumbagin and droserone.
