Research Abstract |
AN IN VITRO ENTEROVIRUS 70 RNA SYNTHESEZING SYSTEM DERIVED FROM A CRUDE MEMBRANE FRACTION OF INFECTED HeLa CELLS WAS USED TO ANALYZE THE MECHANISM OF OF ENTEROVIRUS 70 PLUS-STRAND RNA SYNTHESIS. THIS SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF SYNTHESIZING THE NUCLEOTIDYL-PROTEINS, VPg-pU AND VPg-pUpU, THE 5'-TERMINAL STRUCTURE OF PLUS-STRAND RNA. ELONGATION REACTION OF THE NUCLEOTIDYL PROTEINS WAS STIMULATED BY THE ADDITION OF A SOLUBLE FRACTION (S-10) OBTAINED FROM UNINFECTED HeLa CELLS, INDICATING THAT THIS REACTION MAY BE STIMULATED BY A HOST CELLULAR FACTOR (S).
