Research Abstract |
1. The Results of Anthropological Researches Three Tungus groups, on whose cultures and languages our field researches were carried out, were as follows : (1) The so-called Tungus Ewenki in Khochin-Barga, HulunBuir League in Inner Mongolia of China, (2) the Solon in Ewenk Autonomous Banner in the same region, and (3) the Nanay in the Amur basin of Khabarovsk Region, USSR. The results as for (1) group are : (a) some data on trapping activities practised half a century ago, (b) informations on the social organizations including descent of patrilineality, (c) several records of life-histories and rituals. On (2) group : (a) some data on pastoralism and hunting activities, (b) collection of more than 30 patrilineal descents, (c) several taperecords of rituals. As to (3) group : (a) collection of manuscripts on traditional fishing activities, children's plays and sporting events, (b) VTR records of two shamaness' healing rituals, (c) survey on the traditional Kinship relations (dispersed patri-lineages). 2. Linguistic Researches (1) Northern inner Mongolia, China [1] We have obtained lexical materials from several dialects of Solon and Ewenki. Materials on Solon basic sentences arranged by us, will soon be published. [2] We observed linguistic situations in Hulun Buir region, which is a multilingual society speaking Tungus (Solon and Ewenki), Mongolian (Chakhar, Buryat and Dagur), Chinese and Russian. (2) Amur basin, the USSR [1] We focused on Nanay folkloristic materials, some of which are being prepared to publish. [2] Many important papers and books on Tungus languages, which had not been available in Japan, were xeroxed. The will be of great use to the Tungusology in Japan. (3) We could experience two different fields (China and the USSR), which made it possible to get materials from various Tungus languages. These materials will contribute to the comparative study of the Tungus languages, including Uilta in Japan.
