Research Abstract |
In 1987, techniqus of frequency stabilization were studied in the laboratory of Dr. J.L.Hall, It has become clear that the external stabilization of commercial dye laser with external phase modulator and acousto-optical modulator is adequate to obtain the stabilization of order of KHz. The rf sideband technique is powerful to obtain a low noise error signal. For further stabilization an intracavity AD^*P phase modulatoris required. In 1988, an external stabilization system was as-sembled in our laboratory using existing optical cavity. With this preliminary ex-perimenal setup, the frequency fluctuation of commercial dye laser was reduced to 170KHz. A Fabry Perot resonator for reference cavity was designed. We invited Dr.J.L.Hall to our laboratory. He gave us many advices about our system and we dis-cussed the possibility to improve the resolution of cross correration spectroscopy which had been developed in his laboratory using the technique of subnatural linewidth spectroscopy.
