| Research Abstract |
A new cooler ring "CELSIUS" has started operation at Uppsala University, Sweden, which has been appreciated as the world pioneer project on the particle beam cooling. Concerning this project a broad range spectrograph "PACKMAN" has been built under the design of Ikegami, Head investigator of this Monbusho International Scientific Research Program.
The joint research on the spectrograph and associated experimental studies are now going on as a University-University Cooperative Research between Research Center for Nuclear Physics (Osaka Univ.) and Svedberg Laboratory (Uppsala Univ.). Under this record of performance, both univrsities have established a more systematic and broad scientific research program under the support by the Monbusho International Scientific Research Program. Some exciting results have already been obtained on the intermediate high resolution studies, new ultra high energy radiations and new particle beam cooling method.
