Research Abstract |
The combined axial and torsional loading tests were carried out for SUS304 stainless steel at low temperature (77K), and temperature changing condition from 293K to 77K. The experimental results were as follows, 1. The flow stress of compressive stress state was greater than that of tensile loading condition at 77K. 2 . When the loading directions were changed from tension to torsion, from torsion to tension or from torsion to compression, remarkable "latent hardening" phenomena were observed. Those hardening values were measured under several loading conditions. 3. Low temperature combined loading tests were conducted subsequent to tensile prestraining at room temperature. Latent hardening and stress difference between tension and compression were appeared,as same as the results at constant temperature. 4. Remarkable visco-plastic behavior was observed in 77K. The creep curves were obtained under several stress levels and loading directions. Larger creep strains were produced in middle stress levels (700 - 850 MPa) than lower or higher stresses.
