Research Abstract |
The results obtained revealed the following : The human lateral pterygoid muscular activity during mastication was related to the mandibular inferior and The human lateral shifts at opening and the lateral shift at the early closing phase, playing an important role in the formation of masticatory movements. From the activity at the latter part of occlusal phase, the above activity was suggested to be also related to the apparition of the horizontal masticatory force.
