Research Abstract |
We published an epidemiological study which titled "An orthodontic study of temporomandibular joint dysfunction -Part 1.Epidemiological research in 6-18 years olds-(The journal of Japan Orthodontic Society. Vol.47, No.3 September 1988). We found that the prevalence of TMJ dysfunction was increased by age and the different prevarence among the type of occlusion, therefore we needed to observe the age of lower than 6 and upper than 18. The results of that research will be presented on No.240 Tokyo Dental College Society in 1990. The results of all of those research will be published on Americal Journal of Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in 1990. We also published a clinical study which titled "An Orthodontic study of temporomandibular joint dysfunction -Part 2. Clinical research in orthodontic patients-(The Journal of Orthodontic Society Vol.47 No.3 September 1988). We found the usefulness of orthodontic treatment by using trailscranial radiography, which is publishing now (titled "Longitudinal study of condylar position on anterior crossbite patients at the mixed dentition (The Journal of Japan Orthodontic Society Vol.49 No.3 1990). We promote SAM system and its computerizing. We presented the pilot research which titled "Indication of mandibular position used by MPI (Mandibular Positioning Indicator) on No.48 Japan Orthodontic Society in 1989. We are going to improve this system and present which titled "Mandibular positioning indication using by SAM system" including statistical data of normal occlusion as control data on No3 Japan TMJ society and No49 Japan Orthodontic Society in 1990. We also present the case report of TMJ patient which treated orthodontically on those meetings and the research which titled "Questionnaire for TMJ patients with post-orthodontic treatment" as table clinic on American Association of Orthodontists in 1990.
