| Research Abstract |
The interplanetary structures of the plasma, the magnetic field and the current were analyzed by the method of MHD computer simulation. It was shown that the solar wind in the closed field region corotates with the sun. The azimuth magnetic field was found to be formed in the open region but remain very weak in the closed region. The poloidal current, which associates with the azimuth magnetic field, was found to come into and go out of the sun in the open and closed regions, respectively.
It was also found that the properties of the solution depend on the ratio of the gas pressure to the magnetic pressure (beta-ratio) in the model: If the beta-ratio is small, a clearly defined closed region appears in the wind, in which the flow speed is very small and the azimuth magnetic field is very weak because of the corotation of the plasma. If the beta-ratio is greater than 1, the plasma is not effectively trapped by the magnetic field so that the closed region is not clearly defined in the solution.
