Outline of Annual Research Achievements

無機半導体・ペロブスカイト膜・有機ホール輸送層の積層構造から成るハイブリッド型太陽電池の高性能化を目指して、異種界面で優れた性能を発揮する高分子ホール輸送層の開発とその基礎過程の解明を目的とする。有機無機ペロブスカイト太陽電池は、高い変換効率から近年非常に注目を集めているが、ホール輸送層の役割、大きいヒステリシスの出現、電荷解離・電荷輸送機構は未だ不明な点が多く、デバイス性能とリンクした構造・材料・プロセス・発電機構の解明が必要である。研究代表者らが独自に開発したGHz周波数変調複素過渡光伝導度法(FM-TRMC)は、有機無機ペロブスカイトからホール輸送層(HTL)へのホール移動過程を簡便・迅速かつ直接観察できるため、優れた高分子ホール輸送材を探索するのに最適である。
本年度は、ペロブスカイト薄膜単体と種々のπ共役高分子ホール輸送層を塗布したペロブスカイト2層膜のTRMC評価を行った。太陽電池素子では光を吸収し、電荷を発生・輸送する活性層の他に、正負電荷を損失することなく電極へ輸送する電荷輸送層も重要な役割を担っている。近年の有機薄膜太陽電池研究を通じて、数多くの低分子・高分子半導体が報告されているが、その中でペロブスカイト太陽電池のHTLや電子輸送層に適した材料を選定・新規開発するには、効率的な材料スクリーニングが必要である。研究の結果、TRMC法を用いることで、太陽電池素子を作製することなく、ホール移動過程を安定・高速に直接観察することに成功し、性能支配因子を解明することができた。この結果に基づき、高性能HTL材料開発に向けた化学構造・HOMO準位の設計に関する考察を行った。本研究期間を通じてTRMC法はHTL材料だけでなく、非鉛ペロブスカイト材料や光触媒材料の探索にも有効であり、また、実験的高速スクリーニングとデータ科学の融合が材料研究に有用であることも示した。
