Outline of Annual Research Achievements

有機電子機能材料においては、π電子共役系の凝集構造を適切にデザインするとともに、効率的なイオン伝導性を付与する事が必要である。効率的な電子伝導には結晶的な構造が必要であるが、イオン伝導に対しては、液体的な媒体が有利である。液晶材料でのナノ相分離を利用することにより、結晶的な構造と液体的な領域をナノメータースケールで集積する事が可能である。重合性のシクロテトラシロキサン環と電子活性なペリレンビスイミド部位、および、親イオン性のトリエチレンオキシド鎖を分子内に組み込んだ液晶性電子機能材料のエレクトロクロミズムとドーピングについて検討した。
重合性のシクロテトラシロキサン環と親水的なトリエチレンオキシド鎖をペリレンビスイミドに導入した液晶化合物を合成した。この化合物はダイマー型のカラムナー相を示した。親水的なトリエチレンオキシド鎖の相互作用のために、カラム構造内にイオン伝導が可能な層が形成されている事が興味深い。この化合物のスピンコート膜をトリフルオロメタンスルホン酸蒸気に暴露する事により重合・不溶化した薄膜は有機電解質溶液中でも薄膜状態を保持でき、負電圧を印加すると、可逆的なエレクトロクロミズムを示した。またこの化合物のスピンコート膜を亜ジチオン酸ナトリウム水溶液に浸す事により、ドーピングする事ができた。この化合物の薄膜は、水溶液に浸漬すると直ちにアニオンラジカルやジアニオンの生成を示唆する青紫色に変色した。それに対して、化合物3の薄膜は2時間浸漬しても変色が起こらなかった。この化合物においては、カラム構造内にイオン伝導層が形成されるため、還元性アニオン亜ジチオン酸アニオンが容易に薄膜内に浸透し、ペリレンコアが還元されるものと考えられる。トリエチレンオキシド鎖の代わりにアルキル鎖を導入した化合物では、還元性アニオンが膜内に浸透しないため、ドーピングができなかった。
