Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,分子ロボットを構成する化学反応系をプログラマブルな粒子群から成る分散システムと見なし,ミクロな立場から化学反応系の設計,解析のための理論を構築することを目指している.特に,本研究では種々の機能発現の要因である粒子群の形状形成,つまり自己組織化に着目する.本年度はこれまでに得られた自律移動ロボット群の分散協調理論をもとに,化学反応系特有の性質の分散協調への影響を検討することが目標であった.粒子群の自己組織化は自律移動ロボット群の形状形成問題とモデル化でき,形成可能な形状がロボット群がの初期配置の対称性によって決まることが分かりつつあった.本年度はロボット群の対称性の指標となる対称度という概念を導入し,3次元空間での一点集合問題,平面形成問題,パターン形成問題について成果を得た.さらに,化学反応系においても重要な役割を果たす非同期性や掌性といった性質が形状形成問題へ与える影響についての結果を得た.一連の結果は多数の国際研究集会から招待講演依頼を受け,分散協調理論の主要国際会議DISC, PODC,また自律適応的分散システムに関する国際会議SSSで採択されるなど,国際的にも高い評価を得ている.
