Outline of Annual Research Achievements

「ポルフィリン・ヘミポルフィラジンへの感応性元素導入による電子状態の解明」という研究タイトルで2年間科研費を頂いた。ポルフィリン類の中央に遷移金属元素を導入した化合物は数多く知られてきていたが、典型元素である15族元素を導入するという考えは殆どなく未開拓の分野で、典型元素のあるものは極端に電気陰性度が高い(あるいは低い)、高原子価をとる等、錯体の中央に導入できればその性質に大きな影響を与えることが予想できる。研究計画を提出した頃米国学会雑誌に5価のリン原子をアザポルフィリンであるフタロシアニン(Pc)の中央に挿入した化合物について報告した。主吸収の位置が1000nmを超えるそれまでにない記録を持つポルフィリン類を報告した。それは置換基の元素、位置、数などもすべて理論的に考慮して達成されたものであった。そこでPcよりベンゼン環が4つ少ないテトラアザポルフィリン(TAP)に同様に5価のリンを導入して電子状態を調べた。電荷移動吸収体が強化され移動することにより可視部全体に吸収をもつこと、電子供与性の置換基の導入でさらに吸収が長波長移動すること、蛍光強度が嵩高い置換基で増加することなどを見出した。またある種のTAPはリンの導入後の後処理により、芳香族化合物としては異例の安定性を有する19パイ系であることを示した。
Pcからメソ位の窒素を一つ除いたリン5価挿入コロラジン類では高い蛍光量子収率と吸収位置の条件から、癌の光化学治療への応用に繋がるデータを得て発表した。
新学術領域研究の目的であるグループ間の共同研究も活発に行い、筑波、愛媛、新潟、大阪府大などのグループと共著の論文をレベルの高い国際誌に出すことができた。まだ共同研究は続いており、これからも幾つか共著の論文を提出の予定である。
