Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、強磁性/反強磁性/強磁性界面でのマグノンの変換に関する学理の解明を目的としている。本年度は下記の3項目について主として研究を進めた。
(1)強磁性NiFe細線、強磁性NiFe/非磁性SiO2/強磁性NiFe細線接合、強磁性NiFe/反強磁性FeRh/強磁性NiFe細線接合の3試料に対して、coplanar waveguideを用いて一方の強磁性NiFeにスピン波を励起し、他方の強磁性NiFeに界面を介して伝播するスピン波の強度の比較を行った。その結果、非磁性SiO2の1μmの間隙を介して静磁結合によりスピン波が伝播することを見出した。さらに、反強磁性FeRhを挿入することで、スピン波が大きく減衰することが明らかとなり、スピン波のダンピング効果が強磁性/反強磁性界面において顕著であることが明らかとなった。
(2)強磁性を示すFeRh組成の細線に対してcoplanar waveguideを用いてスピン波を励起し、種々の励起アンテナ-検出アンテナ距離に対するスピン波伝播強度を精査した。その結果、強磁性FeRhにおいて56μm以上におよぶスピン波の長距離伝播を見出すことに成功した。また、強磁性FeRhのスピンダンピング定数がα=0.0028と極めて小さいことが見出された。
(3)a-cドメイン構造を持つ強誘電BaTiO3上にFeRhをエピタキシャル成長し、電界により強磁性FeRh/反強磁性FeRh/強磁性FeRh界面を形成する技術を確立した。当該へテロ構造では、電界により反強磁性領域のサイズを制御可能であることが見出され、単一の強磁性FeRh/反強磁性FeRh/強磁性FeRh接合試料において反強磁性FeRh領域の厚さを電界により制御し、反強磁性領域を介したスピン波の伝播特性を反強磁性領域の厚さの関数として評価するための基盤技術が確立された。
