Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成29年度は、主に以下の二つの課題に取り組んだ。
(1) 環状高分子鎖濃厚系の異常ダイナミクス、(2)生体高分子鎖折り畳み過程における反応座標の異常拡散

(1) 環状鎖濃厚系では、結び目、絡み目についてのトポロジカルな拘束が系の物性を大きく支配し、鎖の形態、運動性、マクロなレオロジーのどれをとっても、通常の線形高分子鎖とは大きく異なる特性が見られる。例えば、近年の大規模数値シミュレーションにより、古典的なレプテーション描像とは全く異なるダイナミクスが観測されており、その理論的記述は挑戦的な課題となっている。本研究では、トポロジカルな拘束により生じるエントロピー的な反発力を記述するトポロジカル体積という概念を導入し、ソフトコロイド系との類似性に注目することにより、環状鎖濃厚系ダイナミクスの理論的記述を試みた。その結果、過冷却液体などで見られる協同運動効果の重要性が示唆され、現象論的記述に協同効果を取り込むことにより、文献に報告されている実験、シミュレーションの結果を系統的かつ定量的に記述出来ることを示した。

(2) 生体高分子のような多自由度複雑系の解析における有用な概念に「反応座標」が挙げられる。しかしその微視的な定式化は通常容易でなく、反応座標の運動にはマルコフ的なダイナミクスが仮定されることが少なくない。本研究では、高分子の形態揺らぎが問題となる時間スケールでは、一般に鎖の連結性由来の記憶効果による非マルコフ的効果が重要となることを議論した。特に、低温で相補的部位が結合するモデル高分子を用いて、折り畳み転移温度で反応座標が示す異常拡散特性を定量的に評価した。
