Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ジアゾ酢酸エステルの精密重合については、リビング重合の可能な嵩高い置換基として、重合後に水酸基に変換可能なエステル型デンドロンのモノマーへの導入に成功した。また、新しい開始剤系として（ナフトキノン）Pd系の開発に成功したが、この開始剤系では、嵩高くないエステル置換基を有するモノマーのリビング重合や、tacticityがかなり制御されたポリマーの合成が可能となることを明らかにした。
ジアゾ酢酸エステルの重合による機能性高分子の合成については、２つのエチル基を導入したBODIPY骨格をエステル置換基として有するジアゾ酢酸エステルの合成に成功した。これによって、重合後に得られる主鎖の周囲にBODIPY骨格が集積したポリマーの有機溶媒への溶解性が格段に上昇することを確認した。このモノマーとアントラセンを有するジアゾ酢酸エステルとのランダム共重合を行い、主鎖の周囲にBODIPYとアントラセンがランダムに配列して集積しているポリマーの合成に成功した。このポリマー中のアントラセン部を光励起したところ、その励起エネルギーが効率良く移動し、BODIPYからその蛍光として放出されることを確認した。この結果は、ポリ（置換メチレン）の官能基集積効果を利用した高効率エネルギー移動が可能な分子ワイヤー合成に繋がる重要な成果である。
これまでに合成とその光物性の解析を行ってきたピレン含有ジアソ酢酸エステルの重合により得られるポリマーについて、ピレンとポリマー主鎖間のスペーサー長の異なる各種のポリマーについて、詳細な解析を行った。その結果、対応するビニルポリマーに比べて、ポリ（置換メチレン）ではエキシマー形成効率が向上することや、上記スペーサー長が長くなるにつれてエキシマー形成速度が低下すること等を明らかにした。
