偏光分解分光イメージングによる原子層局所形態・光物性相関の研究

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究で構築した偏光分解分光イメージング装置を用いて様々な原子層試料の計測を進め、機械剥離法によって準備した原子層物質上の位置に応じた発光強度やバレー分極度を含む光物性の不均一性についての検討を進めた。低温条件下において、単層MoS2の荷電励起子発光の強度とバレー分極の相関について偏光分解分光イメージング測定による検討を行った。データ解析の結果、荷電励起子発光の強度とバレー分極度の間にはほとんど相関が見られないことが明らかとなった。一方、単層WSe2においてバレー分極度と励起子発光強度の相関を検討したところ、単層MoS2の荷電励起子の場合と異なり、場所ごとのバレー分極度と発光強度の間に一定の相関が見出された。さらに検討を進めたところ、これらの結果の違いは、それぞれの原子層物質中の励起子または荷電励起子のバレー緩和時間と、それらの発光寿命の比を通じて理解できることがわかった。単層WSe2試料中で局所ひずみの影響が見られる場所が低いバレー分極度を示すことなど、原子層局所形態・構造とバレー分極度の関連を示唆する結果も得られた。また、バレー分極マッピング測定を、場所による不均一性が小さく明瞭な励起子スペクトルを示す試料上の位置を選び出すことに応用することで、原子層物質の励起子スペクトル、バレー分極度、励起子発光減衰の温度依存性などを再現性よく測定できるようになった。これにより、単層WSe2において、バレー分極マッピングの結果を解釈する上で重要となる弱励起条件下でのバレー分極緩和時間を、様々な温度条件のもとで見積もることができた。
